Laura Flores’ exes: her 5-month marriage, the husband she ran away with, and 3 more

Laura Flores’s love life led her to trust in love time and again, but none of her five marriages were her “happily ever after.” She had one marriage that lasted only a few months, another with a man who turned out to be already married, and one that gave her children. Here, we’ll review her love history.
Laura Flores has been a fixture on Mexican television since the 1980s. Her career includes more than 60 appearances in soap operas, films, and television programs. In addition to her artistic career, she has excelled as a host and singer. Throughout her career, she has won the affection of the public for her versatility and talent.

On a personal level, Laura is the mother of four children: Patricio, María, Alejandro, and Ana Sofía. Despite the obstacles, Flores has spoken publicly about her desire to start a family and the effort involved in that journey, including several attempts at artificial insemination.

Her last relationship was with journalist Lalo Salazar. Although they never married, the relationship was brief and public. In June 2025, the actress announced their breakup through a statement on social media. But before that, she had several love stories that culminated in marriage. Below is a chronological review of Laura Flores’s marital relationships, which provides a glimpse into the different moments of her emotion

Sergio Fachelli, Uruguayan singer (1986–1989)

Laura Flores’s first husband was Uruguayan composer Sergio Fachelli. They married in 1986, when she was still very young. This relationship was widely discussed at the time, but over time, the actress herself revealed details that surprised the public.

In an interview, Flores explained that she didn’t marry for love, but because of family pressure: “The thing is, my dad was very jealous, very controlling (…) and I said, ‘He’s going to kill us.’ So what do I do? I get married (…) It was to get out of the house.”

During that marriage, the actress experienced episodes of domestic violence, as she acknowledged years later, although she didn’t elaborate. After three years of dating, the couple separated in 1989. Their relationship was marked by the difficulties they faced in their private lives, away from the stages where they once collaborated artistically.

Miguel Ángel Durán, Mexican plastic surgeon (1992)

In 1992, Laura Flores married for the second time, this time to plastic surgeon Miguel Ángel Durán. This relationship was brief and, according to the actress, was fraught with deception.

In an interview, she recounted that she was unaware that her then-husband was still legally married to another woman. “He was already married, and I didn’t know… he was separated, but not divorced.” A few months later, when his then-wife appeared, the situation became untenable.
Barely four months after the wedding, Laura decided to end the marriage. Later, she declared that she did not consider the union a real marriage, given the circumstances surrounding it, which call into question the validity of the union.
José Ramón Diez, Mexican businessman (1998–2007)

One of the most significant relationships in Laura Flores’s life was with Mexican businessman José Ramón Diez. They were together from 1998 to 2007, and during those years her two biological children, María and Patricio, were born.

According to the actress, this marriage faced significant challenges related to motherhood. Between her first and second marriages, Flores underwent nine in vitro fertilization procedures and suffered two miscarriages. These experiences took an emotional toll on the couple and were one of the reasons for their eventual divorce.

Despite their separation, Laura and José Ramón maintain a cordial relationship for the well-being of their children. Motherhood was a central focus of this stage of their lives, and their efforts to start a family were reflected both personally and in their public statements.

Eduardo Fonseca, aeronautical engineer (2013)

In 2013, Laura Flores surprised everyone by announcing her marriage to Eduardo Fonseca, an aeronautical engineer. At the time, the actress had kept the relationship secret for nearly a year and a half, in order to protect her children and avoid public exposure.

This marriage lasted only five months. In subsequent interviews, Laura explained that she made the decision to marry at a time of vulnerability. “I got married because I was very vulnerable, and I thought I would find this refuge in him, this security I was missing,” she said in 2015.

She also mentioned that Fonseca failed to establish a good relationship with her children, which influenced the rapid end of the union. This experience reinforced the importance the actress has always placed on family harmony in her marital decisions.
Matthew Flannery, American businessman (2019–2023)

Laura Flores’ fifth and final husband was Matthew Flannery, an American businessman working in the construction industry. Their relationship began publicly in April 2019, when they announced their engagement.

The following December, they were married in a simple church ceremony. “The regular Sunday Mass ended, and the priest gave us his blessing. There, just my three young children, Matt and I, did something symbolic with our rings,” the actress recounted .

Their relationship remained out of the spotlight for several years, but in 2023 they announced their separation. Laura asked for the public’s understanding and confirmed that she had ended her marriage. The announcement marked her fifth divorce and was followed by her brief relationship with journalist Lalo Salazar.

Current events: separation from Lalo Salazar

Laura Flores recently revealed that she was in love again, this time with journalist Eduardo “Lalo” Salazar. She never married him, but their relationship was visible on social media and in interviews. However, a few months later, the actress confirmed the separation.
