“I think a plate was broken here a long time ago; I don’t think things can ever be the same again,” said Maribel Guardia at a press conference, where she denied that the legal case has concluded. She asserted that “no lawsuit has been lost,” contradicting Imelda’s account of a final ruling in her favor.

The artist also stated that she will respect any court ruling regarding visitation rights with her grandson. She explained that she is willing to follow a judge’s orders, even if it means visiting the child in a group home. “That will happen much later, when one of the lawsuits is won. He (the judge) is the one who will decide on visitation rights.”

Although she admitted that her grandson avoided talking about his mother when he lived with her, Maribel believes that silence was an act of protection. Despite the current estrangement, she affirmed that she did so with the child’s well-being in mind : “I love him with all my soul and I pray to God that he’s well. When I made that decision, I considered that I might never see him again.”

User reactions on social networks

A recent interview video generated mixed reviews on TikTok, where a fragment of her conversation with Marcela Mistral, in which she discussed her own childhood, went viral. Some followers expressed understanding, but others expressed anger.

An angry user wrote : “But you didn’t learn from that, you wanted to take your ex-daughter-in-law’s SON away 😡🤬🤬🤬” questioning Maribel for her actions during the legal process. Another internet user offered an empathetic view : “The truth is that this woman is made of iron to go through and endure so much suffering, the truth is that it has no name when you lose a child . ”

A third opinion aligned with this position , highlighting the actress’s strength in the face of a life plagued by difficult losses, first that of her mother in childhood and then having to endure the loss of a son: “What a hard life Maribel, it’s hard now not having your son, it’s terrible how strong you are . “

A memory that marked his life

During that interview, Maribel Guardia spoke about the most traumatic episode of her childhood. Her mother, Rita, died when she was nine years old due to blood cancer. From that moment on, her life changed completely, and fears arose that stayed with her for decades.

“I didn’t want to have children,” he confessed.

And she explained why: “Because I was orphaned when I was 9. I was 9 years old and my mother got cancer. I remember perfectly the last time I saw her, because I was going to school. I kissed her, she gave me her blessing… That was the last kiss I got from my mother. She entered the hospital and when I arrived I saw my sister with two people collapsed, crying.”

The actress explained that after that loss, she developed a deep fear of death and abandonment. For nine nights, she dreamed about her mother, “as if we were flying together.” Then, she stopped dreaming about her and began to feel horrified by the thought of her mother’s corpse. Even decades later, she admitted that she never got over that episode and has suffered from insomnia ever since.

Maribel’s confession adds to a long list of difficult moments she has shared with the public in recent years. Her testimony highlights the impact that childhood wounds can have on decisions made in adulthood.
